According to The Associated Press, on May 19, 2020 Suzanne Collins will take us back to the future for a prequel to her New York Times best selling series, The Hunger Games.
We don’t yet know what the title will be or if any of our favorite characters will return especially since the story is said to take place long before the world’s favorite tribute, Katniss Everdeen’s storyline. But in a statement Collins said,
“With this book, I wanted to explore the state of nature, who we are, and what we perceive is required for our survival. The reconstruction period 10 years after the war, commonly referred to as the Dark Days — as the country of Panem struggles back to its feet — provides fertile ground for characters to grapple with these questions and thereby define their views of humanity.Suzanne Collins
